| Elizabeth
Ryder Sykes was born in Newport News, Virginia on September 8, 1974. Elizabeth's
father was an officer in the United States Army, which allowed her the opportunity
to live in a variety of places while growing up, including Germany.
Elizabeth received her B.S.,
summa cum laude, in Accounting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
in May, 1996 and her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee,
Knoxville in May, 1999. She was a member of the University of Tennessee
Law Review in 1997-1999. In 1998-1999, she was also a Student Materials
Editor for the University of Tennessee Law Review. Elizabeth was admitted
to the Tennessee bar in October, 1999.
In 1999, Elizabeth joined
the law firm of Rainey, Kizer, Butler, Reviere & Bell in Jackson,
Tennessee, where she focused her practice in the areas of estate planning,
probate, real estate transactions, contract drafting, business formations,
and general corporate matters. Elizabeth joined the law firm of Thrailkill,
Harris & Wood, PLC in January, 2001. She focuses her practice in the
areas of estate planning, business formations, real estate and general
corporate matters.
Elizabeth is a member of the
Tennessee and American Bar Associations. Elizabeth and her husband make
their home in Nashville.
