Meredith was born in Riverside, California
and grew up in the Western United States. Meredith attended Vanderbilt
University where she received her B.A. magna cum laude in History in 1994.
She worked for a hedge fund firm in Nashville before attending Vanderbilt
University School of Law. While attending Vanderbilt School of Law, Meredith
received the Best Oralist Award in Legal Writing/Lawyering, served as
a research assistant to Professor Nicholas Zeppos, was a founding member
and Secretary of the Business Law Society and participated in the school
sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. She served as a summer
clerk for Seward & Kissel, which is a boutique Wall Street firm that
specializes in investment company and investment adviser matters. Meredith
received her J.D. in 1998. Meredith
began her practice in the corporate securities section at Waller, Lansden,
Dortch & Davis. She later worked with the corporate group at Stokes,
Bartholomew, Evans & Petree before joining Thrailkill, Harris Wood
& Boswell, PLC in January 2005. Meredith’s
experience includes Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of
1934, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940,
Regulation D private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts,
corporate governance issues and general corporate matters, including limited
partnership and limited liability company issues. Her current practice
consists primarily of mergers and acquisitions, general corporate matters
and estate planning, including wills, trusts, family limited partnerships,
charitable trusts, and private foundations. Meredith
is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations and is an
active community volunteer. She serves on the board of Oasis Center and
is involved with Centerstone Mental Health Centers and the Junior League
of Nashville. Meredith resides in Nashville with her husband and three
children.
